How to Use

Step-by-step guide to organize your files

Select Source Folder

Click Browse... in Step 1 Select the folder you want to organize

Choose Organizing Method

By Extension, Date Modified, or File Size

Scan the Folder

Click Scan Folder Discovered categories will be listed

Choose Destination (Optional)

If left blank, folders will be created inside source folder

Select Categories

Check or uncheck the file categories to process

Choose Copy / Move

Copy keeps original files safe Move transfers files to new location

Click "Start Organizing"

Progress will display live updates Success message shown after completion

How to Install

Installation instructions for different platforms

Linux

Installation:

sudo dpkg -i MCFileOrganizer.deb

Uninstallation:

sudo apt remove mcfileorganizer

Windows

No Installation Required

Just double-click the downloaded file to run the application directly.

Folder Naming Rules

All destination folder names are auto-cleaned to avoid illegal characters (<, >, |, etc.)
Duplicate filenames are auto-renamed to avoid overwriting

Tips

Switch between Light/Dark mode from the Theme menu
Make sure destination folder is not inside source folder (to avoid re-scanning)
You can re-scan after changing mode
Select/Deselect All buttons help quickly manage categories
